Valparai


          Valparai is one of the attractive scenic tourist spots in Tamil Nadu. It is located above 3,500 feet from the sea level on the Annamalai mountain range. It is a town located on the western ghats, 105 km away from Coimbatore. In Valparai, there are several tea and coffee estates, dams, water falls and 15 tea factories. Valparai totally gives us a wonderful natural scenery, which stands majestically with forest all around. Sholayar Dam in Valparai is a fantastic dam to watch. Other important places to visit around Valparai are Balaji temple, Puncha Mugha Vinayagar Koil and spread across tea estates.


Dottabetta

        The height of the Dodabetta Peak is 2,623 meters making it the highest point of the district. It is located at a distance of about 10 km from the main town of Ootyand offers an unbelievably beautiful view of the surrounding topography. One is sure to be impressed by the fascinating views. We suggest that you always carry a camera in hand whenever you set out for the Dodabetta Peak. You will witness charming scenery that you would surely like to capture in your camera and immortalize in your own little way. The lofty hills of the Nilgiri range, the lovely green carpeted valleys are simply a treat to the eye.


Lamb's Rock


          Lamb's rock is an excellent picnic spot near Coonoor. It is a point on the way to Dolphin's Nose. It was named after the man Captain Lamb who tried in earnest to open a path to that particular point. With such a view, no wonder this man put forth such a valiant effort to reach the point. The rock is a jagged cliff that drops down several hundred feet to the lush jungle below. On the right hand is the Hulical ravine. It is possible to see the Coonoor stream some 5000 feet below. This vantage point also provides you with an excellent view of the Coimbatore plains.


Dolphine Nose


       This is a dolphine shaped unbelievable rock which should undoubtedely visited by tourists. From this point the tourists can view almost the whole expansion of the beautiful Nilgiri hills. Catherine Falls can be viewed from here.This famous point is about 10 km away from Coonoor.


Kodanadu's View Point


       Kodanadu's View Point in Ooty, you are sure to get the feeling of being in the clouds because it is located very high and from there the view below is nothing short of startling. From the watchtower of the Kodanadu's View Point in Ooty, it is also possible to get a clear view of the Rangaswamy Peak. All in all, if you yearn to see nature at its impressive best, one of the best places to be in is the Kodanadu's View Point which is merely at a distance of about 18 km from Kotagiri.


Perumal Peak


       Perumal Peak is separated by a short distance of 11.3 kilometers from the town of Kodaikanal. The region is easily accessible from the hill town of Kodaikanal. The tourists may travel to Neutral Saddle by the buses or private cars that can be hired from the town. The journey from Kodaikanal - Perumal Peak will take the tourists through an endless chain of mountains.
